Event POC Listing   Here is the Event POC list for our Troop. This list covers the major events that we scheduled, and bravely volunteered to organize, for 2008-2010.  You’ll notice that your name appears next to the event that you picked under the heading “Adult POC”.    Just make sure you pick a day(s), in the proper month, that doesn’t conflict with any major holidays, school events, or anything unforeseen that we’ll totally blame you for missing (kidding).

Please remember several things … All these events have been run before, just ask for advice or help … a Scout POC will be added to help you get messages to all the scouts … An Adult Troop Leader (guy in uniform) will be at your event. He will work with the Senior Ranking Scout at your event to help guide the scouts … and … our official, unofficial motto …  If you’re doing it, you’re doing it right

Honestly, we all make this stuff up as we go, we learn from others, and we try our best to make the events fun.   So, pick your dates (no, not those kinda dates) and type them in column B. Please select “red color” so I can find them!  Then email this thing back to me. I’ll update the master list and, once done, it will get posted on our Troop webpage. Any questions, just email me, ask me at the Tuesday Meeting, or ask anyone else … you’ll get an answer.  Let’s all pick our dates and get this to me by … October 29th.

Photo Archives available:   Photo Archives from 2001-2007 are now available for check out from the Troop 71 library.  There are three DVDs (each is the same) with an web browser (html) scrapbook of photos from those years.  In addition, all of the photos are in two resolutions ... web and print.  Also, the video file for "A Year in the Life" from a few years ago is on the DVDs.  These span from 2001 to early 2007, so if your son was active in the troop during these years, you will want to check this out and copy it to your computer and then return the DVD for others to do the same.  This collection includes photos from many contributors and was compiled by Rich Diesslin while he was the troop web master.  If you have any questions, just ask Mr. Diesslin (RLDes@aol.com).
Holiday Greeting from the Volchecks!:  As long as they carry it on their website, here is a TV holiday shout-out to Troop 71!

Ray & Diana Blowers completes C.O.P.P program:   Congratulations!
Thank you email from Iraq:  Thank you for the care package. I received it last week. The guards really enjoy the books you send. It really helps pass the time. Hopefully you'll still have time to give your troops the gift I'll be sending in your box. Tell everyone I said "hello". Have a wonderful day. Thank you for all your support. There are no better words that could describe my appreciation.  Love, Inez"
http://www.scoutshops.com/acatalog/ - This is the link to the UK Official Worldwide Centenary of Scouting Site. On the top row of links to the right, click on the link Centenary of Scouting 1907-2007, and then three links come up ... there are a variety of things on all three of those links to purchase ... all official from the UK Shop (this shop is linked directly from the Baden Powell House website in London). Everything is priced in British Pounds and they will ship world wide. The British Pound is about 2 US Dollars to 1 British Pound right now ... so it's pretty safe to just "double" all the prices to get a pretty accurate dollar cost for each item. The things I ordered came very quickly. FYI from Lisa Donigian.
