- 5 Mile Hike Campout Notes for New Scouts (and Patrol Leaders) ·
Leave the
scout hut at 8am, patrol leaders need to be at the hut at
7:00AM to help with patrol gear. ·
New Scouts:
pay attention to the packing list, plan for rain and cold weather.
Also bring your hand book (in a plastic bag) to get requirements
signed off. ·
Some of the
requirements you can get completed on this event are: o
Tenderfoot:
1, 2, 3, 11. o
Second
Class: 1a., 1b., 3b., 3c., 3d., 3e., 3g., 6. o
Fireman Chit
and Toten Chit cards. ·
Even though
it is just an overnight campout, have a change of clothes (and shoes) for
after the hike and extra socks and sweats to sleep in. ·
New Scouts
must have a medical form and activity consent form filled out and turned
in to attend.
All scouts must
have an activity consent form to attend. ·
Wear class A
uniform if possible (we always wear the class A when travelling).
You don’t need to wear the scarf but bring it along, campouts are
a great place to get a scoutmaster conference or Board of Review and you
have to have your full class A for both.
If you don’t have a class A, you can wear your troop t shirt. ·
Make sure
you know who your Troop Guides are and you understand what your
contribution to the patrol will be.
