Philmont

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Philmont is short for the Philmont Scout Ranch, a bustling BSA center for high adventure and training. Troop 71 scouts and scouters travel to Philmont for a serious backpacking experience. The group usually takes a train from Ohio (Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati) to Raton, NM. From there, the group is bussed to the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, NM. The group then embarks on their multi-day backpacking trek. The high-adventurers return to Beavercreek about fourteen days after their departure from Ohio.
